fitness, a "virtual learning" room, and indoor swimming. Also, new this summer: Archery!
Campers
are grouped according to age and each group follows a daily schedule.
There is an adult head counselor with at least one assistant for
each group of 12-14 campers. Additionally, each activity usually
includes an adult teacher.

Performing

Awaken the creative spirit and imagination through Dance, Drumming,
Singing and Acting/Drama. This camp features a variety of experiences
in these 4 mediums such as:
Dance: Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Modern, African
Music: Jazz, Blues, Percussion, African Drumming, Choral
Singing.
Drama: Improvisation, Scene Study, Method Acting
Each week this intensive exploration will culminate with a mini-performance

Adventure Camp
Our goal is to provide a unique participating learning experience in which campers,
under the direction of trained instructors, can develop leadership skills, teamwork, confidence and communication skills.
We will use safe, effective, ground-based activities and games for the campers
to successfully conquer obstacles and challenges, all the while having fun outdoors.
Additionally Holy Name's wooded campus provides the perfect environment to conduct scavenger hunts with clues and prizes.
Another component of this exciting camp will be Fencing Instruction! Each week we
will start with an introduction to the sport of fencing and basic foot work techniques. By mid-week the focus shifts to detailed foot work and
foil strategy . Fridays will be fully equiped competition ( using "buttoned tip" foils, no sharp points ) using a round robin scoring system.
The final components will be: Self Defense/Jeet Kune Do with well known local instructor Vince Kittles, and Speed Stacking.
After lunch, we will swim at Myers M.S., then return to Holy Names for recreational activities, including Archery.
Director: Kathi McGuigan
This will be Kathi's fourth summer with JMU 4 Kids. She has an extensive background in education, coaching, nursing and business. Kathi and her
husband Henry reside in Duanesburg. They have 2 children.
